Antenatal Breastfeeding Class
In our workshop, we’ll demystify how your body makes milk, the role of hormones, and why you might want to “harvest” colostrum before birth.

Breastfeeding is a beautiful way to bond with your baby while giving them essential nutrients and a strong immune boost—breastmilk is truly amazing!
In our workshop, we’ll demystify how your body makes milk, the role of hormones, and why you might want to “harvest” colostrum before birth. We also encourage partners to join - it’s a great way to understand the science and learn how to offer support.
You'll learn different feeding positions, how to get a good latch, and what to expect in the early days. Breastfeeding can come with challenges, but with the right know-how, you’ll be prepared. We'll cover common struggles (like latching issues and sore nipples) and share practical tips to help you navigate them with confidence.

It is incredible that sessions like this are offered and that she spends her evenings providing these. I am incredibly grateful.

I attended a breastfeeding antenatal class which I found incredibly useful. Reading the books is all very well but having someone informed and well educated to talk you through it all was so helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Heidi demonstrated to be very knowledgable as well as personable, and made the 1h30 engaging and worth staying on 'til the end.
Although the class was online, she made us feel like real people, asking us to briefly introduce ourselves, I was impressed with her ability of remembering names, due dates, etc.
Loved the knitted props that she used for demonstration purposes, worked really well to show us what to expect, as well as her ability to visualise movements and shapes using her hands.
I have really found it a great use of our time and I am already booking more classes.

Excellent breastfeeding course - recommended for all new parents
The free online breastfeeding session I attended was presented by the warm and reassuring Jan, an expert in her field. I felt much better about what to expect when breastfeeding at the end of the course and also when to seek extra support. I liked that it also discussed some of the science/biology too as that helped with my understanding.

Attended the breast feeding course with Cordelia as the teacher. Extremely informative and Cordelia was very knowledgeable. Lovely small group and felt safe to ask questions. Great idea to keep cameras on. Before the session, I really was not confident about breast feeding bit now I feel more confident and know where to seek help if I need it.

I logged in for the free antenatal breastfeeding class and have to say what an excellent resource it was for mums to be. Our instructor Miriam was friendly and knowledgeable and gave us all the key info in an easy to understand way. Thank you! I will definitely keep my eye out for further Blossom courses.

I really recommend Blossom Antenatal's breastfeeding class. The level of detail was great and the midwife instructor Kay was very experienced (and lovely too). The information about feeding cues, stomach sizes and CHINS was all really useful. Plus tips for partners was really good as mine attended and he felt really included. I'm now planning on attending other Blossom Antenatal classes as they have a really varied selection available. Thank you for your expertise so far!

Attended the free breastfeeding training over zoom. Absolutely fantastic. Run by an experienced midwife and lactation consultant. Answered all the questions in my mind with really clear images and demonstrations. Also free of judgement and very encouraging of any feeding approach. Highly recommend.

Free breast feeding course
Just taken part in a FREE breast feeding online course. The course was presented by Jan. She was wonderful and very personal. from the start she addressed some issues some of us maybe experiencing such as outdated advice and how to address that sensitively. The course including lots of places to find support and advice on how to seek out support. There was lots of good quality information that was backed up by resources (eg lullaby trust) or Jan providing a demonstration. What i most appreciated was the range of information and the no judgement. not once did Jan slam bottles, pumps etc as those things are a personal choice and can aid women in their journeys. There was information for partners and how they can help .
I actually did a nhs course after this and was astonished that it was incredibly out date and biased and judgemental.
I would advise first time mums like myself to seek out as much advice as possible and make their own informed choice. I personally will be following mostly Blossom advice for my journey!

Absolutely fantastic resource
Absolutely fantastic resource! The webinar on breast feeding was recommended to me via Instagram stories and I’m so glad I signed up and joined the session. The session was led my Miriam Feen who was really personable and encouraging as well as professional and entertaining! I’m pregnant with my first child and I was concerned I’d miss out on ante natal sessions due to Covid but this session has made me feel so much better! Thankful for leaders like Miriam who are giving their time and knowledge to us ladies! Can’t rate this resource enough!
